New Year's Resolutions

Hello guys,

So 2014 is here meaning that it is time again to make resolutions. It is always a good idea to set goals in everything and do whatever you can to get them. Even if the goals are small or seem insignificant it is important to write them down as a reminded because it might happen that you forget them later on. 

I have set goals for very things this year since I think one of them is pretty big, for me anyways, but hopefully I will be able to reach them with not so many obstacles.

So my goals for this year are the following:


Get my degree by the end of Summer

I still have some classes left in order to graduate but I've been working full time and didn't get any chance to go back to school. Now I'm working full time and I'm planning studying full time as well ... it will be kind of hard but I know I can do it!! I believe I can do anything I want to do.

Here is the way I think: I'd rather be a slave of my books for 8 months (spring and summer terms) instead of taking more time to finish and been stressed out.twice the time.



Be totally debt free

I've been using my credit card a lot for all the Christmas gifts I got. My debt is not too much but with school now makes it a little hard to pay it promptly :(

So what will I do about it? I will leave my card at home and just use cash in the mean time. Cash is more difficult to use than a credit card that is for sure! And I don't believe on using a debit card since it is more difficult to dispute a charge in the case your card gets stolen! so yeah no debit card for this girl!



Fixing my car

More like repainting it! It has some chips here and there nothing too bad but I want to fix it. I'm not planning on getting a new one anytime soon so I want to take care of it as much as I can. I want to change the headlights to brighter as well.

Problem here is that I'm trying to be debt free so this is quite expensive; paint around $300-400, headlight $30 each .... Of course I'll start with the headlights but it is not a priority right now because they are just fine but I just like really bright lights XD


So those are my goals, not so many huh? but hopefully I can reach them all!  I wanted to post them here and I have you guys as witnesses so that way I have to get them no matter what!!! :D

Downtown Salt Lake City Utah

Hello World!

My mom and I went to Downtown Salt Lake City around a week ago to see the lights :) we always find an excuse with my mom to go out and do something together! 

The roads are quite dangerous so instead of driving there (we live in the suburbs) we decided to take the Trax there and enjoy the ride without worrying about our car slipping here and there or other drivers driving fast as if there's no black ice >.<

We reached Downtown and we were welcome by lights everywhere :) it was so crowded there with people doing exactly the same thing like us, enjoying the lights and taking pictures.

I love my silly mom :) she is never afraid to show her crazy personality haha I love that about her!

I think the view in this pic is just beautiful, this is the LDS temple and it is exactly in the middle of downtown.

This is my favorite pic so far :) we both are happy and enjoying each other's company. My mom is definitely my best friend.

So this was our night in downtown SLC and I love that big city feel (even though it is not even close to be a big city haha)

Happy New Year!!

Hello world!!

First of all happy New Year! This past 2013 went by pretty fast! It was a good year for me :) I was able to reach many of my goals and I can move on onto new ones! 

We waited the New Year at home with my family. I'm not a party girl at all so I enjoy spending time wig my family :)

My boyfriend is just like me in the sense that he enjoys family time (we never went clubbing or anything like that) and that is something that I love about him :)

We had a simple and easy New Year's Eve dinner but we like to make sure that we have a nice decorated table.

The menu was as follows:

• Walnut Shrimp

• Mongolian Beef

• Pom Pom Chicken

• Sweet and Sour Pork

• General Tso Chicken

• Lo Mein 

• White Rice

• Coconut Pie

• Apple Cider (we don't drink alcoholic drinks)

My parents always make sure we have a good time while waiting for the new year :) our tradition is playing cards, we play a game called "Loba" 

And of course King Rusty is present in all the festivities :)

We had a great time together and I'm so happy to have the family I have! I know this New Year will be a great one as well and I'll reach new goals I life. 

I'll make a post of all my goals for this year and I hope you do it as well and I would love to read it!!

Hello world :)

I can't believe Christmas is over! I'm still like a little kid so having to wait another year will be tough haha.

I felt like Papa Noel this year lol I have a stable job so I wanted to give as much as I could ( of course not going into debt) to my people ;) 

Our big celebration is Christmas Eve. We have a nice dinner and we open presents on midnight :) 

We love to decorate with mom and make our table look nice on our budget :)

I love how festive our table looked :) and my mom is always very detailed in everything :)

Our menu was the following:

• Spicy Bolivian Pork, this was a dream! The meat was so tender! It was melting in your mouth!

• Chicken Alfredo, and again meat was tender and well seasoned :)

• Potatoes au gratin, this was our first time doing it and it was a total success!

• Fetuccini noodles, al dente seasoned with some herbs.

• Flan, you can't go wrong with homemade Flan!

• Panettone, a classic Christmas bread! My mom bakes it from scratch and it is the best!!

I'm a little sad Christmas is over and I won't hear more Christmas songs but I'm looking forward to next year :)

Update + Thanksgiving

I apologize for not updating here for a while. I've been so busy with a new job and school but I promise I'll update in a regular basis from now on :) ... Let me tell you I'm really enjoying my job! This is the first time I feel happy to go to work because the people there are amazing :) I'm enjoying this season since it's not too cold like other years, life is good in general! :D

We had Thanksgiving with my family and it was great and fun! I love spending time with my family so much! We are a really small family but we still want to have a little feast ;

We cooked the traditional Thanksgiving dinner, my mom did the Turkey and I was in charged of everything else!

I had to take a selfie showing all my hard work lol

I prepared the following side dishes from scratch:

• Mashed Potatoes
• Stuffing
• Caramel yams
• Green bean casserole

I like to cook side dishes I think it's kind of relaxing since they are quite simple to do and I don't want my mom to be overwhelmed with so many things to do for this holiday.

Thanksgiving is a great holiday to make you think about life and that even though you have tough times there are some things that you can be thankful for. Here are some of the things that I'm grateful for:

• My family: my mom, my dad, my brother, my King Rusty, my extended family 

• My boyfriend who is my family as well :)

• My friends

• My job that is just awesome!

New job ... again!

Hello world

I want to apologize for the lack of updates lately! The reason is that I got a new job again!!

Remember I wrote about having a new job and that it was not what I wanted? Well that job was making me miserable, because it was a dead end one, with not so nice people around so I was looking for another one in the meantime.

I found one that was exactly what I wanted, with better environment and pay so I decided to apply and thank God I got it! The training was still hard but I was happy going! :)

I'm in a great place now and I hope I can grow within this amazing company!

I don't think I can write too much this week but next week I'll be able to update more since training will be over by then :)

Top Five Regrets of the Dying

First of all I want to apologize for my lack of activity, I promise I will go check your blogs! My new job is quite stressful and I didn't have time to think about anything else. x__x I'm so sorry!!

The other day I found this really short article about regrets and it really made me think about life and some of the things I did and didn't do that I regret.



Thinking about many things ...

These are the Top Five Regrets of the Dying:

• I wish I had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
• I wish I hadn't worked so hard.
• I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.
• I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
• I wish that I had let myself be happier.

One of my regrets that I can share with you guys is that I wish I hadn't worked so hard. I remember in my last job I was so responsible, I never called in, always on time, really good employee but because of that job I lost so many other opportunities to enjoy life, I rejected vacations, I missed so many concerts, I was so into my job that I couldn't enjoy other things, and I look back and I really regret it. I know I did a great job as an employee but I should have taken it easy one of the important things in life is time and I feel I lost quite a bit :(

I want to live my life to the fullest and no regrets and I hope the same for you all!

New job ....

So today was the first day in a new job, and let me tell you I'm way tired!!!

I'm falling asleep -.- z z z z

It's not the best job in the entire world but it's the only one I found that lets me work part time in the days and hours I'm available to do it (training is full time for two weeks though). I start school again this August, yay! but that also mean I will need money for gas and other necessities.

This job is pretty demanding but as I said it's only part time so I won't lose my sanity just yet. I used to work full time before and it was a waaay easier job than this one but unfortunately that company closed down (I miss that job so much)  :( the good thing was that I was able to take a well deserved rest :)

I won't deny it, it was so hard to wake up in the morning!! but I have to do what I have to do in order to pay some bills (cell, internet, etc) gas, books .... x.x  .... I miss those days when I wasn't so concerned about money *sigh*

Now time to take a shower and get ready to sleep even if it's barely 5 pm

Camping at Cottonwood Canyon

Hello World

Last week I went camping with friends and family. It was quite nice! We went to the Spruces Campground located at Cottonwood Canyon here in Utah. The weather was perfect, it wasn't too hot or too cold (there was still some snow around though O__O)

The view was breathtaking!

Blog Changes

Hey there beautiful people :)

 

 

Spring is here and with that I wanted to make some changes in my blog. I didn't like the direction it was taking, it turned into a beauty blog and that's not what I inteded it to be. I guess that contributed to my lack of posts lately because I didn't have the motivation to write only about one topic. I like beauty stuff but I don't want my blog to be centered in only that direction because "my world" revolves around many things :)

 

I think this change will be good and I hope you guys like it. I decided to make some sort of a schedule so I feel that way is more organized so here it comes:

 

 

Random Mondays: It is as the title implies, about random things around here that catches my attention

 

Beauty Tuesdays: I still like my beauty stuff so I want to keep it where you can see some swatches and products I like.

 

Fitness Wednesdays: I love to do exercises and I want to write about the ones that work well for me and maybe will do the same for you :)

 

Healthy Eating Thursdays: It's about healthy foods. You need a good diet along to exercises :) so I hope this will help some of you get ideas of food.

 

King Rusty Fridays: I can't have a blog without my little devil! and I know many of you enjoy those posts! :)

 

Life Updates Saturdays: If something exciting happened in my life I'll make sure to let you guys know about it.

 

Music Sundays: My blog would be missing something if I don't share my music! Music is a huge part of my life :)

 

 

I'm excited for these changes! Of course I'm not saying that every single day I will make a post because that would be tiring for me and you guys but it will be more organized for me to schedule the posts. I hope it makes sense what I'm trying to achieve.

New Year's Resolutions

Hello :)

Gotta love Instagram effects xD

Holidays are over :( it makes me a little sad but the great memories stay with me :)

Every New Year I write my new resolutions with my family and I thought it would be nice to do it here as well :)

Here are mine:

1.  Pay my bills and get rid of any debt I have. These are tough times here in the US so the best thing you can do is be debt free. That means not using credit card and only buy things that I really need instead of the ones I just want.

2.  Lose weight. Holidays are a big factor for some people to gain weight and I feel that I indulge quite a bit lol so I will exercise more! I think I have a good diet but I don't move too much lol so exercise is that I really need.

3.  Donate. I don't know if you have this problem but sometimes I only keep some clothes for sentimental reasons but I don't even wear them. I need to donate them so other people can enjoy them as much as I did :)

4.  Travel. I would love to go to either Japan or Korea those seems great! I would also love to go to any of the Nordic countries, I watched many videos in Youtube about them and they seem magical <3

5.  Try new things. This is something that I always do but I just like to have it as a reminder. I would like to include my family in this. Imagine going skydiving with my mom! that would be awesome!!

6.  Keep any negativity away. Life is meant to be enjoyed to the fullest and beautiful! No need for something bad, I only want to have good things in my life :)

7.  Update my blog more. These two past months were crazy for me! but now it's all back to normal so I'll write quite a lot :) I love writing and reading your blogs!

Trying to mow the lawn but ...

Today I woke up pretty early and decided to mow the lawn as a good start of my day :) But my plans were ruined thanks to the morning dew :(

 

 

 

 

 

 

I didn't want to risk ruining my mower so now I have to wait until it's not too wet :(

 

Something I don't like is that it gets pretty hot here in Utah so mowing in the morning is a good idea (or late afternoon)... I guess i need to do some other chores in the meantime :)

So today...

Driving around Salt Lake County here in Utah on a Friday afternoon ... Nice weather, clear skies :D

Basketball night!

My bf and I decided to go play basketball :)We went to the Salt Lake Community College SLCC here in Utah. The basketball courts are quite good but dang it's packed!!

I'm such a noob lol but I like to be active and have fun even if I make a fool of myself.

 

 

A cave with a door?!

So the other day I went to Timpanogos Cave :) It was a nice warm day! Usually the weather is extremely hot in summer but I was lucky!! The weather was perfect for hiking!

While hiking we saw this cute deer :) oh Bambi!!  he was so cute and kept staring at us!

The trail took us around two hours, two hours with nature, fresh air, nice time with family :)

When we reached the top we felt accomplished and I was ready to continue the adventure inside the cave but to my dismay this is what I found:

Yeap the cave had a door!! I knew that moment that adventure was not going to happen that day :( I'm used to going to caves where everything is pitch black and you need ropes and equipment necessary to it but this one was like going to a modern day caveman's house >.> There were so many doors inside as well and light everywhere ... I can say i was disappointed ...

This was in Toro Toro Bolivia :) a national park where you can find great caves, dinosours prints and many other fun stuff! That was adventure to the fullest! :) no lights or doors inside this cave please! (the pic was taken with flash ... just in case you are wondering)

I was disappointed in Timpanogos cave but at least I enjoyed my time with my beautiful family and that's what matters the most! Family always comes first and makes eveything enjoyable!
