Another month another Shampoo & Conditioner Review :D I bought them because I had some coupons lol you should know by now how much I love to save money haha.

I got CLEAR Scalp & Hair Therapy: Strong Lengths because my nair is really long (it reaches my waist :D)

It claims:

• Helps restore scalp's natural moisture balance.
• Leaves hair strong and beautiful from root to tip.

 My thoughts about it:

• It smells delicious
• Shampoo works pretty nice
• Conditioner is not good in my opinion, it is not rich enough, in order to make it work I have to mix it with my other condinioner ( Organix Macadamia Oil Conditioner click here for the review! )

• Leaves residue, but I honestly think that happens with almost all hair products.

Will I buy it again?

No, It was ok to try it but I wasn't impressed at all, the only good thing I found is that it smell good, that's all unfortunately.

Organix Macadamia Oil Conditioner Review

Here is a review of my favorite conditioner. I decided to try it because of Smoonstyle (EPICA's singer Simone Simons personal blog), I read that she liked it and I was like yeah I should try it! it's only 6 bucks! I'm so glad I bought it!

Its statement:

My Thoughts:

I love it! There's nothing wrong about it. at first I thought it was too watery and wasn't going to help me at all but I was so wrong! It leaves my hair so soft and shiny! my hair has good body and it really looks healthy. It smells delicious!

Will I buy it again?

YES! It'll be a staple in my shower! Try it and you will love it!!

Have you tried it before? How about the shampoo? I'm still thinking about trying it but I'm not too sure let me know if you like it or not.

Revlon in Sunshine Sparkle

Revlon in Sunshine Sparkle 089 is a beautiful light yellow. It has really fine shimmer that you can barely notice once it is applied. I think this is a really fun and cute spring color :)

It's not difficult to apply unlike Revlon Lemon which is basically the same color except it has no shimmer at all.

As you know I love bargain shopping so when I saw coupons for these items I was a little excited :) I like to try new shampoos and conditioners and if I can save some money at the same time makes very happy haha.

So I bought the the whole line but today I will only review the shampoo and conditioner.

Total Repair 5 Restoring Shampoo and Total Repair 5 Restoring Conditioner




L'Oreal Total Repair 5 Shampoo and Conditioner

They both claim that:

Instantly and over time help repair the 5 visible signs of damaged hair (Split Ends, Weak, Rough, Dull, Dehydrated) with out weighing it down.



My thoughts:

They leave your hair pretty soft and with body

Hair was shiny (not too much though)

I don't think there's anything that can help split ends except for a trim.

Unfortunately they leave residue (to eliminate it I use Neutrogena )

They leave your hair smelling really good :D

Will I buy them again?

Yes, but not anytime soon since I want to try new things :)\

Favorite lip combo + Update

How are you? it's been months since my last update ... So busy with school and work ... Being a full time student and work full time is really exhausting! Three more weeks and I will be done with the semester so hopefully I will have more time to keep updating, I miss reading your blogs so much!! and I apologize not having time to comment!! I will try my best, I promise! :D

So I've been using this lip combo for a while and I love it!

Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me 15 is a really soft red, I don't think I can pull off a red lip anytime soon so this is a great alternative for someone shy about it. :)

Maybelline in Smooth Taupe 860 is a Limited Edition lipstick (I think it is available now in one of the new Maybelline lipstick collection). It was quite hard to make it work since it's so light and a little drying. I have this one and a back up since I fell in love with the color and I didn't want to just have them stored without any purpose so I needed to find a way to use them.

So I decided to apply first the Baby Lips in Cherry Me and top it off with Smooth Taupe. I love how they look together, applying Smooth Taupe over Cherry Me makes it a creamy pink color :) So pretty and girly!!

IVF: A good option for women and couples.

Having a child is something that most women or couples want but sometimes there are issues that prevent them to have them like infertility, being single, being older, same sex couples, etc. but with the advance of science and technology we are able to get In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) treatments which require the extraction of eggs and sperm from the couple, inseminate and incubate them outside the womb and then put them back into it in order to conceive in an artificial way (see Fig.1). Though this is a great step for science and couples, there is a lot of controversy regarding this topic..

In Vitro Fertilization has been used for many years to help women get pregnant and finally have children they were waiting so much to have. There are many who oppose to this and say that they should be adopting instead of trying this expensive treatment arguing that there are a lot of children who are waiting for a home. While this is true, there are many people that want genetically same children and there's nothing wrong with that thought. If they are willing to go with the treatment and know about the risks involved then they should go ahead and try to get what they want the most. There are many cases of couples that first try In Vitro Fertilization before considering adopting and I know that I would choose to do that if I were in that situation. 

Another reason why some people oppose is that the baby can suffer many consequences, like birth defects, underdevelopment, psychological problems, etc. but what they don’t take into considerations is those risks could happen to any other type of birth, of course the percentage is higher while using In Vitro Fertilization but if the woman or couple do their homework and see that this is something that they can handle and it is a good treatment for them then IVF is something that could change her/their lives forever. My aunt struggled for many years to conceived a baby, my whole family could see how much she and my uncle wanted to have a baby, it seemed that was the only thing they could think about. After all those years they decided to try IVF treatment which changed their lives drastically. The treatment of course was expensive, time consuming and mentally and physically exhausting but at the end it gave them the most wonderful gift in the world, a child of their own. What a wonderful moment when he was born, and now nineteen years later we are all so glad for their decision to go ahead with IVF treatments and to have him in our lives and I cannot imagine how life would be without him.

Doctors advice about the consequences of In Vitro Fertilization for the mother, like for example, there might be some psychological problems arising from the treatment. It is not guaranteed that the mother will get pregnant on the first round of treatment, in fact there is a huge possibility that it might take at least 3 rounds and if the mother is not prepared for this it can really affect her greatly emotionally. In my aunt's case she had two treatments, the first one failed and she lost twins, it was devastating but she had a good doctor that explained to her, before starting the treatments, that this was a possibility and that she should be prepared in every sense for that. Because of her doctor's warnings, she was prepared and she kept going strong and and fortunately the second round was successful.

There are many consequences for this treatment but the amount of women who decide to take the risks is increasing exponentially by the passing of years. Some women do it is because they want to experience childbirth, That is one of the reasons many decide to take this path because they feel that in order to be fully a mother they need to experience that, and In Vitro Fertilization can give them that opportunity

IVF can bring happiness to the couple that is struggling conceiving.

In Vitro Fertilization is a great way to help people have children. There are many risks involved but having a new life as the desired result outweighs all the consequences and if the parents are willing to go through this long taxing process not matter what might arise later on, then it is a great option for them. I believe that In Vitro Fertilization can bring hope and happiness to the people that is struggling a lot for that desired child.

New Year's Resolutions

Hello guys,

So 2014 is here meaning that it is time again to make resolutions. It is always a good idea to set goals in everything and do whatever you can to get them. Even if the goals are small or seem insignificant it is important to write them down as a reminded because it might happen that you forget them later on. 

I have set goals for very things this year since I think one of them is pretty big, for me anyways, but hopefully I will be able to reach them with not so many obstacles.

So my goals for this year are the following:


Get my degree by the end of Summer

I still have some classes left in order to graduate but I've been working full time and didn't get any chance to go back to school. Now I'm working full time and I'm planning studying full time as well ... it will be kind of hard but I know I can do it!! I believe I can do anything I want to do.

Here is the way I think: I'd rather be a slave of my books for 8 months (spring and summer terms) instead of taking more time to finish and been stressed out.twice the time.



Be totally debt free

I've been using my credit card a lot for all the Christmas gifts I got. My debt is not too much but with school now makes it a little hard to pay it promptly :(

So what will I do about it? I will leave my card at home and just use cash in the mean time. Cash is more difficult to use than a credit card that is for sure! And I don't believe on using a debit card since it is more difficult to dispute a charge in the case your card gets stolen! so yeah no debit card for this girl!



Fixing my car

More like repainting it! It has some chips here and there nothing too bad but I want to fix it. I'm not planning on getting a new one anytime soon so I want to take care of it as much as I can. I want to change the headlights to brighter as well.

Problem here is that I'm trying to be debt free so this is quite expensive; paint around $300-400, headlight $30 each .... Of course I'll start with the headlights but it is not a priority right now because they are just fine but I just like really bright lights XD


So those are my goals, not so many huh? but hopefully I can reach them all!  I wanted to post them here and I have you guys as witnesses so that way I have to get them no matter what!!! :D

Downtown Salt Lake City Utah

Hello World!

My mom and I went to Downtown Salt Lake City around a week ago to see the lights :) we always find an excuse with my mom to go out and do something together! 

The roads are quite dangerous so instead of driving there (we live in the suburbs) we decided to take the Trax there and enjoy the ride without worrying about our car slipping here and there or other drivers driving fast as if there's no black ice >.<

We reached Downtown and we were welcome by lights everywhere :) it was so crowded there with people doing exactly the same thing like us, enjoying the lights and taking pictures.

I love my silly mom :) she is never afraid to show her crazy personality haha I love that about her!

I think the view in this pic is just beautiful, this is the LDS temple and it is exactly in the middle of downtown.

This is my favorite pic so far :) we both are happy and enjoying each other's company. My mom is definitely my best friend.

So this was our night in downtown SLC and I love that big city feel (even though it is not even close to be a big city haha)

Happy New Year!!

Hello world!!

First of all happy New Year! This past 2013 went by pretty fast! It was a good year for me :) I was able to reach many of my goals and I can move on onto new ones! 

We waited the New Year at home with my family. I'm not a party girl at all so I enjoy spending time wig my family :)

My boyfriend is just like me in the sense that he enjoys family time (we never went clubbing or anything like that) and that is something that I love about him :)

We had a simple and easy New Year's Eve dinner but we like to make sure that we have a nice decorated table.

The menu was as follows:

• Walnut Shrimp

• Mongolian Beef

• Pom Pom Chicken

• Sweet and Sour Pork

• General Tso Chicken

• Lo Mein 

• White Rice

• Coconut Pie

• Apple Cider (we don't drink alcoholic drinks)

My parents always make sure we have a good time while waiting for the new year :) our tradition is playing cards, we play a game called "Loba" 

And of course King Rusty is present in all the festivities :)

We had a great time together and I'm so happy to have the family I have! I know this New Year will be a great one as well and I'll reach new goals I life. 

I'll make a post of all my goals for this year and I hope you do it as well and I would love to read it!!

I can't believe Christmas is over! I'm still like a little kid so having to wait another year will be tough haha.

I felt like Papa Noel this year lol I have a stable job so I wanted to give as much as I could ( of course not going into debt) to my people ;) 

Our big celebration is Christmas Eve. We have a nice dinner and we open presents on midnight :) 

We love to decorate with mom and make our table look nice on our budget :)

I love how festive our table looked :) and my mom is always very detailed in everything :)

Our menu was the following:

• Spicy Bolivian Pork, this was a dream! The meat was so tender! It was melting in your mouth!

• Chicken Alfredo, and again meat was tender and well seasoned :)

• Potatoes au gratin, this was our first time doing it and it was a total success!

• Fetuccini noodles, al dente seasoned with some herbs.

• Flan, you can't go wrong with homemade Flan!

• Panettone, a classic Christmas bread! My mom bakes it from scratch and it is the best!!

I'm a little sad Christmas is over and I won't hear more Christmas songs but I'm looking forward to next year :)

Update + Thanksgiving

I apologize for not updating here for a while. I've been so busy with a new job and school but I promise I'll update in a regular basis from now on :) ... Let me tell you I'm really enjoying my job! This is the first time I feel happy to go to work because the people there are amazing :) I'm enjoying this season since it's not too cold like other years, life is good in general! :D

We had Thanksgiving with my family and it was great and fun! I love spending time with my family so much! We are a really small family but we still want to have a little feast ;

We cooked the traditional Thanksgiving dinner, my mom did the Turkey and I was in charged of everything else!

I had to take a selfie showing all my hard work lol

I prepared the following side dishes from scratch:

• Mashed Potatoes
• Stuffing
• Caramel yams
• Green bean casserole

I like to cook side dishes I think it's kind of relaxing since they are quite simple to do and I don't want my mom to be overwhelmed with so many things to do for this holiday.

Thanksgiving is a great holiday to make you think about life and that even though you have tough times there are some things that you can be thankful for. Here are some of the things that I'm grateful for:

• My family: my mom, my dad, my brother, my King Rusty, my extended family 

• My boyfriend who is my family as well :)

• My friends

• My job that is just awesome!

New job ... again!

I want to apologize for the lack of updates lately! The reason is that I got a new job again!!

Remember I wrote about having a new job and that it was not what I wanted? Well that job was making me miserable, because it was a dead end one, with not so nice people around so I was looking for another one in the meantime.

I found one that was exactly what I wanted, with better environment and pay so I decided to apply and thank God I got it! The training was still hard but I was happy going! :)

I'm in a great place now and I hope I can grow within this amazing company!

I don't think I can write too much this week but next week I'll be able to update more since training will be over by then :)

Revlon in Orange Pop (365) is part of Revlon's Scented Nail Polishes. This is such a beautiful summer color! It's just like a candy! Orange color with golden undertones! BEAUTIFUL!! It kind of reminds me of Fanta lol

I was a little skeptical about these Scented Revlon Nail Polishes but I got pleasantly surprised at how yummy it smells!! I applied top coat and it still smelled delicious!

I am still so sore and tired after this amazing concert!! I'm so happy I got to go and meet most of the band members!!



First in line!!

Like always I was first in line! Yay! I noticed that the Utah "crowd" is a little boring and slow, we got to "In the Venue" around 11:00 and before getting there I was a little freaking out thinking that maybe there were some other people already there, but no, we were the first ones!

 

I went with my boyfriend and his best friend aka the brother in law "BiL". (and if you are wondering they both are Asians *nods*)

We were fine for the first two hours since there was lots of shade but then the evil sun started to reach us!

Ok so these are the bad things about waiting in line:

• Utah is a desert
• It's in the middle of summer
• No near restrooms around
• No near stores around to get water
• It felt like an oven
• We were starting to talk nonsense since we were so dehydrated
• Sunburn (I applied sunscreen SPF 80 though)

It was really hard to be there but we really want to support the bands and show them that we appreaciate them and go there early.

 

Sun was so strong and no clouds around, we tried to stay in the shadows as much as we could but BiL just stayed under the sun O.o the whole day!!! Bf and I drank some natural/organic energy drinks that don't make you crush and we offered one to BiL but he didn't want o.O

 

We saw Kobra Paige (Kobra and the Lotus' vocalist) and she was so sweet!! asking us if we were ok under this evil sun! we saw the other members from Kobra and the Lotus but we honestly didn't want to bother them asking for pictures because you can see they are getting ready for the show so yeah it's better not bother them. Everytime Kobra passed by us she asked us if we were fine and that was so sweet of her! Seriously a beautiful girl inside and out!

 

Elize Ryd (Amaranthe's Vocalist) came and asked us if we were fine as well! I guess we were looking like death by that time haha but that was sweet ot her!

 

I got to talk with Charlie Parra del Riego! He's big in the metal industry as well and it was nice to talk with him in Spanish since he is Peruvian, he's such a down to earth person!

 

Around 5 people started to come so I guess we arrived 6 hours earlier lol anyways by that time I was way too hot and getting a little scared to get a heat stroke!! Elize came and asked me if I needed something like sneakers, skittles fruit or water, of course I didn't want to ask for anything but I thanked her for being so thoughtful!

 

The guys of "In the Venue" were kind enough to give us some free headphones :) I guess being dedicated pays off :) it felt good that they noticed that we were there all excited and we were able to wait under the evil sun just to see our bands!

 

Honestly this felt like VIP talking and interacting with the members throughout the day!!

 

Around 6:30 we went inside the venue and it was a little small (my first time at "In the Venue") we got our place right in the front and they were still doing the soundcheck and man my ears were killing me! fortunately I had tissue so I made my own earplugs, I love concerts but I don't want to be deaf! my bf used his earphones as earplugs and he was fine, we gave the BiL some tissued so he can make some earplugs but he didn't want >.>

 

Bf went to Kobra and the Lotus booth and bought us a copy of their album and it kick ass! great music! I feel blessed we got to interact with them!!

It was a great show of both bands and I feel really honored with the fact I saw them that close!!
The aftershow was the best though! we took lots of pics with both bands but those are in my boyfriend's phone :(

Things I learned from this concert:

• Avoid sun as much as I can and use sunscreen.
• Have a natural energy drink to keep me going the whole day.
• Earplugs.

I'm sure I would have been dead if I didn't do those things! Too bad BiL was under the sun the whole day, didn't want the energy drink and earplugs ... he was totally dead :(

I love concerts so much! and I can't wait to see these two bands in the future! and I'm sure that will happen in a bigger venue! They do have all the potential to conquer the world!

Now I'm looking forward to Kamelot's concert in September!! :D

Well it's time to keep sleeping now lol ... My neck is so sore!!  >_<
